Bengal Plastics Ltd is awarded Leed gold certification by the US Green Building Council, making it the first plastics factory in Bangladesh to receive this distinction. 

According to a press release, Bengal Plastics Ltd achieved gold-level certification by implementing a number of measures, including installations of energy-efficient lighting, using recycled materials, solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and tree plantation. 

This achievement is one of the major milestones for the plastics industry in Bangladesh to set a new standard in achieving sustainable development. 

The award was received by the Vice Chairman of Bengal Group of Industries Md Jashim Uddin, Director- Humayun Kabir (Bablu) and other high officials of Bengal Group of Industries. 

This certification is handed over by Mahendra S Jayalath; CEO of Energy Solve International (Pvt) Ltd nominated awarding partner of Leed certification.
